Grounded support for life in transition.
🌳You might be LGBTQIA+ 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️, an immigrant or expat 🌍, or someone living between worlds, identities, or life stages. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to go it alone. Through grounded, body-based support, I help you reclaim your inner clarity, resilience, and sense of belonging. 🌿
Sessions are available in English and held online, with a focus on calm, collaborative, and heart-centered guidance.
Based in the Netherlands — working with clients across Europe and beyond.
Whether you've always felt different, outside the norm, or like an outsider without a home—this space is for you.
Hi, I’m Soren.
he/him/they/them
For the ones who live between worlds.
You might carry stories that don’t fit the mainstream — about gender, culture, belonging, or love. I work with those stories. I work with you.
I’m a counselor and coach with over a decade of experience holding space for people navigating transitions, identity shifts, and complex relationships. Many of my clients are LGBTQIA+, immigrants, and unconventional in one way or another.
My work is trauma-informed, body-based, and heart-led. My coaching offers the kind of presence that allows something true to emerge — your clarity, your path, your power.
I’m originally from the U.S. and now based in the Netherlands, offering a cross-cultural, intuitive perspective rooted in lived experience.
What I offer
Deeply attuned listening
I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to talk, reflect, and be truly heard. Whether you’re processing complex feelings or simply need to externalize your thoughts, I’m here to listen deeply and hold space without rushing to fix or advise.
Mindfulness practices
Together, we cultivate simple, accessible mindfulness techniques that help you stay grounded and present. These tools support nervous system regulation, reduce overwhelm, and build resilience for life’s ongoing challenges.
Somatic awareness
Together, we gently tune into your body’s sensations and rhythms, inviting you to be fully present in the moment. By listening and learning to trust the wisdom your body holds, you deepen your connection to yourself, in your relationships, and the world around you.
Who I work with
You’re in the right place if...
You’re an immigrant or expat, LGBTQIA+, unconventional, or culturally in-between — and tired of having to explain.
You want support that’s non-clinical but deeply attuned.
You’ve outgrown parts of your life and aren’t sure what comes next.
You long for a deeper connection to yourself and others — but not quite sure how to go about it.
How I work
I work somatically — which means we include the body, breath, and nervous system in our conversations. You don’t need to have experience with this; I’ll guide you at your pace.
All sessions are:
Trauma-informed
Respectful of your identity and values
Collaborative, not prescriptive
Held in English
I offer heart-centered authentic presence, meaningful tools, and a safe space to explore and honor your deepest truths.
FAQ

We begin exactly where you are—right now. Our first session is all about you sharing what feels most alive or important in your life, whether that’s simply having someone really listen, exploring new tools, or tuning into what your body is telling you. There’s no pressure or agenda—I’m here to support you, and together we’ll find the path that feels right for you.

While I have a background as a licensed mental health counselor, this is not psychotherapy.
Northern Lights Wellness Coaching is not intended to diagnose, assess, or treat mental health conditions, and it's not a fit for those currently in crisis. Instead, I offer warm, collaborative support that’s present-centered, practical, and grounded in mindfulness, somatics, and deep listening. We begin with what’s unfolding in your life right now—what feels tender, what’s shifting, and what you sense is ready for change. Our work is about reconnecting with your own clarity and resilience, not labeling or pathologizing. If you’re looking for clinical mental health treatment, I’m happy to help connect you to a therapist or service that can meet that need. -
When I use the term wellness coaching, I don’t mean the commercial version of wellness that’s tied to perfectionism, productivity, or buying more things. I’m not here to tell you how to be well—I’m here to help you figure out what your version of being well looks and feels like.
That might mean recovering a sense of calm after burnout, learning how to say no without guilt, reconnecting with your body after disconnection, or simply remembering what brings you joy. My role is to offer steady, nonjudgmental support while you define what “well” means in your life, on your terms.
This kind of coaching isn’t about chasing ideals. It’s about slowing down, listening inward, and rebuilding trust with yourself—especially if you’ve lived in systems or identities that have made that hard.

People come to coaching for many reasons. Some feel stuck or overwhelmed during a life transition. Others are navigating identity questions, relationship changes, or burnout. Some are adjusting to life in a new country or trying to make sense of conflicting parts of themselves.
Common themes I support include:
Navigating a major life transition (new country, career shift, gender journey, parenthood, etc.)
Feeling out of place or like they don’t quite fit in—anywhere
Exploring or questioning their identity (gender, sexuality, cultural, spiritual, or otherwise)
Longing for more authenticity, freedom, and alignment in their life
Seeking clarity about next steps, direction, or purpose
Wanting to break free from people-pleasing, burnout, or survival-mode patterns
Craving a space where they don’t have to explain themselves or translate their experience
Struggling to find belonging in community or relationships
Existential crisis and spiritual awakenings
Reconnecting with their body, intuition, or inner knowing
Trying to build a life that feels meaningful in a world that often doesn’t
Exploring alternative relationship structures or navigating relational change
Seeking grounding and steadiness during a period of uncertainty or grief
Ready to gently unpack the impact of trauma in a non-pathologizing, body-aware space
Longing to slow down, breathe, and listen inward
We move at your pace, and you don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. If it’s heavy on your heart or hard to talk about elsewhere, we can start there.

Some people come away with new language for their experience. Others leave with practical tools to regulate their nervous system, shift long-held patterns, or move through the world with more self-trust and clarity. Our work may include designing daily rhythms, practicing nonviolent communication, creating rituals of connection, or finding the courage to live more honestly in a complex and challenging world.
You don’t have to have it all figured out before starting—part of the work is discovering what healing and wellness mean to you, on your terms.

Most people meet with me once every week or two, especially in the beginning. Some shift to meeting less often once they’ve gotten some traction. A standard session is 50 minutes, but occasionally I offer longer sessions (75–90 minutes) when there’s a need for more space or deeper integration work.
As for how long we work together, that really depends on what you’re navigating and what feels supportive. Some people come in for a few months to work through a transition or decision point. Others stay longer-term because they find it helpful to have a steady space for reflection and growth.
My approach is collaborative, so we’ll find a pacing and duration that aligns with your needs, energy, and goals.

Yes—everything you share with me is confidential. I treat your story with care, meaning I won’t share what you say with others, and I offer a safe, respectful space where all parts of you are welcome.
Many people come to me because they’ve felt judged, unseen, or misunderstood elsewhere. You don’t have to censor yourself here. I don’t offer advice from a distance—I meet you where you are, with presence, honesty, and kindness.
That said, I don’t work with people who are in active crisis or experiencing ongoing suicidal thoughts. If you’re ever at risk of harming yourself or someone else, we’ll pause and work together to find the right support. I’ll never abandon you, but I will make sure you get the care you need to stay safe.
